Bio
Watch our youngest role model, 14-year-old coder Sasha Williams, share how she began her love of coding after attending a Black Girls Code workshop. She recently competed against teams from Brazil, India and Taiwan in an international hackathon competition, where her Oakland based Black Girls Code team developed a girls safety app utilizing wearable stickers. She has advocated for girls to pursue coding and technology in the documentary film, “Code Oakland” and in various media appearances on “OWN”, MSNBC TV and Smithsonian Magazine. She is also an actor, dancer and singer, and envisions a career where she can combine her love of the arts and technology.
