Watch Lauren Middleton-Pratt, urban planner and Higher Education Market Lead for global real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JJL) in Boston, share how one of her biggest projects was to lead the development of the South Boston waterfront project. She was responsible for working with developers, community leaders, and government officials to complete this iconic project. She laughs at being called “bossy” as a child and embraced the label because a boss is a leader that knows how to work with others to get things done. Her advice for girls who want to have a career like hers is to focus on becoming financially literate. Get comfortable with numbers and the math that helps decision makers know if it makes economic sense to do a project.
