Watch Debra Kimberling, mechanical engineer at Solar Turbines in San Diego, share how the favorite part of her job is working on diverse teams of engineers to solve problems for their clients. In school, she took a drawing class which required her to draw her house from a 3-D perspective. She credits that early experience with developing the spatial skills that she uses every day in her job. She advises girls with an interest in engineering to contact the Society of Women Engineers. They can offer internship and career guidance and often provide a speaker to come to their school.
