Watch Marti Epstein, Ph.D., Composer and Professor of Composition at Berklee College of Music and faculty member of the Boston Conservatory, discuss how she creates her music and how a young composer can get started. She is an award-winning composer whose music is regularly commissioned, recorded and performed around the world. She walks us through the nuances of a performance of her composition “Bloom” and shares stories about her encounters with two of her musical heroes, Toru Takemitsu and Leonard Bernstein.
