Dr. Arletta Brinson is a legacy honor graduate from Spelman College and received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Georgia State University. Dr. Brinson was the first African-American Director of Psychological Services in Fulton County Schools. In 2009 she retired as the Executive Director of the Office of Student Programs and Services in Atlanta Public Schools. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at Clark Atlanta University and is the Executive Director of the Paradise Community Development Center.

Dr. Brinson has many professional affiliations and has presented at varied local and national conferences.  Her civic activities are many; however, she is most proud of being a founding board member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Respite Services, which provided services to disabled individuals. She has received many commendations including the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Black Psychologists and at her church a youth leadership award was named in her honor.  In 2014 she began what is now a signature service project-Jewels for Jewels and Gifts for Guys-at A.G. Rhodes Health and Rehab Center where residents are given community-donated gently used jewelry and other accessories that delight.

She is a life member of the Association of Black Psychologists and the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College and holds other memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Pilot Clubs International, and Paradise Baptist Church.
