The 2023 AI, Machine Learning, and Robotics Virtual Camp, presented in partnership with the Toyota Research Institute, focused on safety in robotic systems, what can robots learn from humans, how teams collaborate to make great things together, and physical interactions to train robots. For four days, campers participated in incredible presentations from women working on the cutting edge of robotics and a sneak peek of the exciting work that the women will present to the world soon.

The Career Girls 2023 C-Suite Virtual Camp gave girls the opportunity to learn what it means to be a C-Suite executive. The camp featured women role models from various leadership positions to help guide girls on how they pave their own way into the C-Suite. Girls explored the roles and responsibilities in the C-Suite, the impact the roles have on a company, and the skills needed to succeed in the C-Suite. They participated in a mock coaching session focused on how to lead a business and learned how to identify the needs of a company, how to fund a business, and build a successful team.

Career Girls NGO CSW67 Forum virtual session on March 8 explore how Career Girls virtual programming uses technology to give girls direct access to diverse and accomplished women role models worldwide in critical STEM areas like climate change, AI, and Machine Learning. The program objectives are to improve girls’ future economic opportunities, foster digital literacy, provide a safe and educational environment, close the gender gap in STEM, and provide direct access to accomplished women role models. Career Girls’ virtual programming aligns with four of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In celebration of Black History Month, Career Girls premiered a short video at the “After Dark: Black Excellence, Black Invention” event at the Exploratorium museum, co-hosted by the San Francisco Public Library in partnership with the SFPL African-American Center. The event showcased various exhibitions, speakers, and videos recognizing historically overlooked black inventors and their revolutionary inventions. The inspiring video shares each Career Girls Role Model’s accomplishments and unique experiences, providing girls with inspiration and encouragement.

The camp focused on interdisciplinary careers that impact climate change decision-making on a state, federal and global level. Campers discovered how women from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) impact climate change laws, met women delegates from COP27, the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, who negotiated with world leaders on some of the most critical climate change issues and learned how the women of Sylvatex are leading the charge to move industries away from fossil fuels by developing transformative technology for lithium-ion battery production for electric vehicles, stationary energy storage, and more.

Our 2022 Web3, Blockchain, and NFT Virtual Camp helped girls learn about the exciting world of Web3 and the different applications of this cutting-edge technology. This three-day camp focused on blockchain technology, decentralization, token-based economics, and the world of NFTs. Campers learned how brand experts are starting to tap into the various applications of Web3, how artists use Web3 as a platform to share their voices and gain independence, and how to create blockchain technology from the ground up.

Our campers went on a cyber journey and explored the cybersecurity field, and the different roles professionals play in this exciting industry. Campers got to learn directly from women experts in cybersecurity and information technology. They also develop problem-solving skills from a cybersecurity perspective and develop a plan to help create a safe presence online.

During the Career Girls 2022 Preparing for College Virtual Camp, campers learned what it takes to get into college from women experts in education and college admissions. They discovered how to write about achievements and the power of presenting their authentic selves to college admissions officers from women experts at LinkedIn. The College Board guided them through developing a “countdown to college” timeline and identifying their ideal college major and career options.

This AI, Machine Learning, and Robotics Virtual Camp was presented in partnership with the Toyota Research Institute. Campers learned how AI and machine learning help robots understand data patterns to perform tasks traditionally done by humans and perform tasks that are impossible to humans. They got to learn directly from women experts who make this possible using math, computer science, engineering, and physics skills.

During Career Girls Financing For Entrepreneurship Camp on July 12, 13, 14, and 15, our campers learned how to fund their ideas and turn them into successful businesses. They also learned how to create a business model, what investors are looking for in a viable company and how profit, revenue, and costs matter in developing a strong business plan.
In partnership with the Directors Guild Producer Training Plan, Career Girls is thrilled to present a free virtual event about the path to success as a director in the television and film industry. The Directors Guild Producer Training Plan is an elite training program that prepares a diverse group of young women to become working members of the Directors Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. Hear from women who were accepted into the program and are now working on some of your favorite television shows and movies!
