Bio
Watch Computer Scientist Carolyne Ekyarisiima who runs an organization in Tanzania called Apps and Girls, describe how and why she teaches girls coding and computer applications. Her students are trained to code in different languages, web design, robotics. Saturdays are internship days, where they develop their own ideas. Coding, Carolyne says, is an amazing, awesome superpower. It’s useful if you are passionate about fashion, geography—or anything! She finds it rewarding to help a girl develop from living in Tanzania without a computer to becoming a role model in the community and then traveling to compete in New York.
