Watch Shannon Farelly, a creative director for the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, which focuses on finding new work opportunities for people of low and middle incomes worldwide. She manages communications, marketing, advertising, public relations and media. As a creative director, she loves touching every aspect of communications and promotion. Shannon has learned that artificial thinking and machines won’t take over. Research shows that creativity is integral to work -- and jobs and pay in creative directing are on the rise. Shannon shares this advice: Every time she experiences failure in her career, she stops and thinks about what she has learned. It helps her becomes more resilient.
