Bio
Watch Jaleesa Trapp, a Ph.D. student in the Lifelong Kindergarten research group at the MIT Media Lab. Her work focuses on engaging youth of color in interactive learning experiences with technology. The most rewarding part of her work is to provide girls and their families with opportunities that she didn’t have when she was young. Jaleesa says that girls should consider careers in human-centered design and engineering because girls bring a needed, unique perspective to the field. Her advice to girls is to be confident, even when you doubt yourself, and know that you are where you’re supposed to be.
