Bio
Watch Monica Hall Porter, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biology, Dean College, share how a helpful intervention from her science teacher got her on track for a successful career as a scientific researcher. She credits that teacher with getting her to study harder and to always do her best. As a researcher, she investigates how the female hormone, estrogen, helps heart tissue recover after heart attacks. As an educator, her love of teaching extends beyond the college classroom to her work with the Science Museum of Boston and Science Club for Girls.
