Bio
Watch Hydra Mendoza, the elected president of the San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education in California. Plus, she is deputy chief of staff for education and equity, helping to lead the school district and city to ensure all students are successful in their academic careers. It makes Hydra happy to see young people achieving successes: performing in a play or graduating. Her advice: Build your confidence. Know you are being heard and your presence is powerful… Ask a lot of questions. It’s really important not to just wonder in your mind. For a career in education, listening, understanding and communicating very well are important, and many girls and young women have those skills.
