Watch Liz Hicks, Principal and Founder of Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA), share how she got the idea to create Los Angeles Unified School District’s first, single gender, STEM focused public school. Her vision is to increase the pipeline of young women entering STEM fields by supporting them in academic subjects and the soft skills required to be successful. Her advice to girls interested in becoming a leader in the education field is to get your Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education and then teach in the classroom to get valuable experience.
