Bio
Watch Emilie Hill, Science Teacher at the Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA) in Los Angeles share how she loves helping girls learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). She makes exploring careers in STEM fun and interesting, which helps her students do well in their studies and imagine what kind of cool careers they might create for themselves. She became a teacher because she had so many wonderful teachers in her life who lifted her up when she needed and she wanted to do the same for students in her class. Emilie shares an example of how just noticing that a student had been absent from her class, helped the student to realize that they matter and that someone wants them to learn and to succeed.
