Bio
Watch the Hon. Beverly B. Martin, United States Court of Appeals judge for the Eleventh Circuit, share why she first became interested in being a lawyer, and how she came to be nominated by the president to be appointed as a federal judge. In her role on the U.S. Court of Appeals, she reviews cases from the trial courts below her, just like the U.S. Supreme Court reviews appeals from her court. A favorite part of her job is being able to help people resolve their problems. Her advice to girls is to limit the negative voices they may have in their lives, and to surround themselves with people who encourage and help them to succeed in the goals that they know they can achieve.
